Easy to install, maintain and operate
Current network technology

These days most companies already have a Gigabit Ethernet network. Also workstations these days have GbE ports. Working with Ethernet network is far more easier in installation, use and maintenance of a network. When installing a traditional SAN in addition to this Ethernet network a Fibrechannel network must be implemented. This involves laying cables and installing FC cards in the workstations. It also excludes the possibility of using laptops. In addition often a separate metadata server is needed. Requiring two completely different networks and different boxes complicates installation, maintenance and operations considerably. And it is also costly.

The DynamicDrivePool connects to Ethernet

The DynamicDrivePool as a SAN with NAS functionality does not need all that. It can be connected directly to the existing Ethernet network and workstations.

Metadata system is built in

Ardis Technologies' own AVFS system, which is their metadata server system, is also included in the DynamicDrivePool. Therefore installing, maintaining and operating the DDP is as simple as working with a NAS solution.

Plug and play with the DynamicDrivePool

The DDP is ‘plug-and-play’; it just needs to be plugged in on the (existing) ethernet structure and it can be operated through its specially designed Graphical User Interface. Through its GUI, an overview is provided of all users on the network and options are offered to configure these.
