* DDP4D means a DynamicDrivePool with 4 drives. The DDP4D can be delivered as a 1 HE rack mount or a pedestal (desktop) system. The DDP16D, 24D and 40D can be delivered in an expandable version. Up to 8 or more DDPEX storage arrays can then be connected to allow bandwidth and capacity scaling.
** A stream is defined as a video postproduction type stream of 1:1 10 bit SDI video. One 10bit SDI stream corresponds to approximately 6x DV25, 3x DVCPRO50, 2,2 x DVCPROHD, 5x XDCAMHD, 1,5x DNxHD, 0,14 x 10 bit RGB 4:4:4. For other formats please ask.
** A user is defined as an audio postproduction type user using 25 tracks of 48 KHz, 24 bit audio and one stream of DV25 or similar video. If you have 4 users with 80 tracks each a DDP24D should be fine. For audio applications is always best within budget to select a system with as many drives as possible since drive seek time is the limiting factor.
*** The nett capacity is given. The total capacity is between brackets. The DDP6D and DDP12D use raidsets of 6 drives. All others use raidsets of 4 drives. In that case the nett capacity is 0,75 x total capacity. Capacities are given for DDP’s with 250, 500, 750 and 1000 GB drives.
