September News Archive of the DDP website December 2007 Equallogic, one of our iSCSI OEM Customers for the Mac , has been acquired by DELL . This shows that iSCSI has to be taken very seriously. July 2007 The first DDP40D with 40 (!!) drives of 500 GB totally 20 Terabyte of storage was installed this month. The customer was not satisfied with their newly bought Fibrechannel system and replaced this with our SCSI over IP (iSCSI) DDP40D. Standard GbE switches and cabling was used. June 2007 Over the last period DDP sales has been growing very fast and numerous installations have been done. Also our dealer network is expanding rapidly. The DDP series has proven to be a simply to operate, easy to install robust product. November 2006 The DDP was succesfully showed at the Tonmeistertagung in Leipzig by Media Logic (Berlin). Attendents with fiberchannel solutions in their mind were very surprised about the easy installation and operation of the SCSI over Ethernet based DynamicDrivePool. September 2006 Mediaspec has supplied Andrew Sumner Associates with a Dynamic Drive Pool (DDP) media server. The DDP will assist in Sumners Manchester based post production facility, will work alongside Sumners' existing Avid systems on Protools. Dubbing mixer Tony Greenwood already feels that the DDP has made a positive impact on Sumners' workflow. "It has revolutionized the way we work, as it is a massive time-saving product: projects can now be quickly and easily moved around different suites." He added, "The support is also very good, which is also extremely important to us." April 2006 - December 2005 As of now Ardis Technologies supplies the DDP with MetaSAN to allow full project sharing for Avids, Final Cut Pro’s, Nuendo, Pyramix and others. November 2005 Protools users: good news! The DDP is optimized for Protools. There is now a DDP system for any Protools studio from small to large. For a studio with 1-2 Protools users or 1 Protools and 1 Final Cut Pro user there is the DDP/1U. For bigger studio’s one of the bigger DDP’s can be chosen. October 2005 The well known iSCSI storage array Fortune 500 supplier, Equallogic has chosen our iSCSI Mac OS X initiator driver to supply with their storage arrays. September 2005 Thanks to the Dutch filmcompany Metasound Ardis Technology was able to thoroughly test the DDP in an environment with 5 Protools HD systems and 1 Final Cut Pro. Again our thanks for that! August 2005 MWA-NOVA has installed two DDP’s in the Berliner postproduction facility EuroSync. One DDP is connected to the 4x M.Trax 24 track audio workstations and the second one is used as a backup DDP. June 2005 as of now the DDP backup/recovery software package is integrated in the DDP software and available free of charge. An additional DDP can be connected and addressed as a backup DDP. Backup can be done manually or scheduled. In the latter case backup is done fully automated and the user does not have to worry about safeguarding the data. May 2005 the DDP series is now available in 4 different models depending on the number of users. April 2005 more installations have been done and new database software is available which allows archiving and sorting of drives and cataloging drives into projects. March 2005 the first installation has been done Oy Hedcom Oy in Finland has been appointed dealer for Finland Zima Produktion from Sweden has been appointed dealer for Sweden. Februari 2005 as of today drives created on the DDP can also be formatted within the DDP application. Both NTFS for Windows XP and Windows 2000 and HFS+ for Mac OS X 10.3 onwards are supported. |
