The DDP4DP (Pedestal) is delivered with 4 x 500 GB, 1TB, 2 TB or 3TB 6Gb/s, SATA2 drives and has a maximum internal bandwidth of 150 MB/s.
The DDP4DP uses raid technology. It allows project and file sharing at wire speed over ethernet for every application. Due to the raid 5 technology the effective capacity is: 1,5 TB, 3 TB, 6 TB or 9 TB.
The DDP can be integrated in your existing ethernet infrastructure with its 2 GbE ports. The ports can be used for your workflow although NIC2 should also be available to your officenet for service. Optional GbE and or 10 GbE ports can be added. An iSCSI initiator and AVFS client driver can be installed on each desktop with Mac OSX 10.5.x and up, Windows XP, Vista, 2003, 2008, Window 7 or Linux.
After entering proper IP addresses and names in both DDP and desktops you are set to go. One or multiple DDP drives can be created from the Dynamic Drive Pool. Each DDP drive behaves like a normal local drive on desktops. On each desktop the same DDP drive can be used as a local drive with normal read and write access. On Mac and Linux the DDP drives show up as HFS+ drives, while on a Windows PC the DDP drives appear as NTFS volumes in My Computer.
